What I'm Watching ... Television Part 1

I'm going to try and post once a week about what happens on the shows I currently watch, which are a wide range of shows. Maybe you watch them too and we can talk about it, or maybe you don't and you'll be like...oh? that looks like a really interesting show... or maybe you'll hate all the shows I watch ... either way I'm going to try it. Here's some of the shows I watch in no particular order (Part 2 coming soon):

Glee (series finale last Friday, March 20) -I have loved this show these past 6 seasons. The actors and characters became a part of me and who I am. I'm sure it was like that for everyone who watched the show, forever known as Gleeks! The last episode ended in the best way possible - a tribute to the beginning and where it all began and an ending that showed where they are now. It was absolute perfection and I loved that they threw in a "Don't Stop Believing" number from the first season and with Cory Monteith. Cue the tears! Though I'm sad to see it go, I'm thankful for Netflix and DVD sets so I can relive it anytime I want.

Hart of Dixie - Rumors are swirling around that this CW show has been cancelled. Which is totally hartbreaking (misspelling intended) to me. The actors have been posting on twitter and instagram #longlivethehart, so it must be true. I love this show which follows Zoe Hart, a doctor in a small southern town, finding love and friendship different from her fast-paced NY ways. And Zoe finally got together with Wade and everything!

Pretty Little Liars (season finale Tuesday, March 24) - The season finale was INSANE!!! First off, if you don't know about PLL, you should probably get on that bandwagon. It follows Aria, Spencer, Hanna, and Emily, high schoolers who are under attack by a mysterious person named "A." This person has been blackmailing them for the past few years and since they have been trying to find out who this person is. In the season finale, they are put under arrest for the murder of Mona, and they wind up trapped in "A"s lair, finding out only that "A" is named Charles. Who is Charles? I personally think that Andrew is either "A" or is helping him out. I definitely know Andrew is the one who attacked Aria's brother...at the trial he said he was an Eagle Scout or whatever!!! If that doesn't say he was involved, I don't know what does?! But then again, nothing is ever as it seems in Rosewood. I never know what exactly is going to happen, it's always crazy, with winding turns and crazy new clues. I wonder what they're going to throw at us next season, and are the liars going to escape?! I'm sure they will, but how?!

Girl Meets World (season finale Friday, March 27) - From the writers and creators of Boy Meets World, this show follows the lives of Cory and Topanga's children Riley and Auggie as they go through life in the big city. It's basically an updated version of Boy Meets World for kids and teens of today. As someone who grew up on BMW, I highly enjoy GMW because it's just like reliving my childhood. As the same great lessons and for once you can see your childhood idols as grown ups. In the season finale, Riley gets her first date with her crush. Cory, her father and teacher, is not thrilled about his daughter growing up and going on her first date. And yet, Auggie, his younger son already has a girlfriend - and by the way sometimes Auggie really makes the show. Does Cory allow her to go on her first date? And what does this leave for the upcoming season because it has been picked up for season 2..thankfully!!! Can't wait.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - I stopped watching this show for a little while, but my fiancée and I are catching up on Netflix and then will watch the current season. I just didn't have time before to watch this show and the many other shows I watch on the regular, and my boyfriend just started watching it, so I figured I'd watch with him so we can discuss it. So far, we're almost at the end of the first season and Hydra has just infiltrated SHIELD. I hate Ward, May needs to come back and Skye better be ok because she may just be my favorite. I also like Coulson (obviously), Simmons and Fitz because they are just cool. But I hate Ward with a passion beyond belief, but I guess that's what happens when you're a two-faced double agent.

Game of Thrones (season premiere April 12, 2015) - I'm currently rewatching all of the episodes to prepare myself for the new season. I read all of the books so far, so I know what happens - who dies, who lives and whatnot - but because George R.R. Martin has not written the 6th/7th books, the writers of the show are changing this next season up. I wonder what they are going to do? Who are they going to kill? What is going to change? The suspense is KILLING me - literally and figuratively.

Bones - I've loved Bones since I started binge watching reruns on the weekends with my aunt. I love David Boreanaz (can you say Buffy and Angel) and Emily Deschanel's chemistry as a couple on the show and a team - solving crimes, starting a family and Bones' funny wit. Recently, Sweets (who was another of my favorite characters) was murdered on the show - the actor who played Sweets decided to move on from the show. It was a sad, sad day. In the newest episode it was Sweets' birthday. Even though he's gone from the show, his character still lives on. The episode revolved around Booth trying to gain closure and move on with his friends' death and also solve a murder - a murder is solved every episode with a little personal stuff added in. I don't know if people watched already, and I hope I'm not spoiling anything if you're still catching up on your DVR list (I have the same problem), but I swear Booth and Bones' daughter sees Sweets as her imaginary friend! Just watch the last 5 minutes and you'll think the same thing! Oh man, so crazy!! But it is a show so anything is possible. I do believe in ghosts though, so it's not all improbable. Just depends on if you believe or not I guess.

Part 2 of What I'm Watching Television edition will be up really soon, after I catch up with my DVR. The shows are: Law & Order: SVU, Criminal Minds, Grimm, Once Upon A Time, Mysteries of Laura, Revenge and Nashville. Stay Tuned ...

Shadow of Night

So I finished the book Shadow of Night ...it was amazing! I can not wait until the third installment comes out and I hope that its soon. The character development of Matthew and Diana is great. Throughout the book they find out more about themselves and each other, even though they are decades in the past. Matthew, because he lived in that time period, has to revert back to his old ways and the reader can see how different was in the past compared to the present. When time traveling, you learn that you are not supposed to alter time. Matthew and Diana left an important mark on Elizabethan London and the rest of history. Historical figures come and go throughout the book, such as Christopher Marlowe, Walter Raleigh, Queen Elizabeth and a brief mention of William Shakespeare. Diana was there to learn more about her magic, but only developed her power towards the end when a surprising character appears and helps rid her of her fear of magic. There are plenty more characters in the book, ...

"Good In Bed" - Jennifer Weiner

I've never read Jennifer Weiner before, but know that she writes what most people call: beach reads - a book that's easy and fun to read. No one wants to read Anna Karenina on the beach, right? So you need something - I don't want to say dumbed down, but yes, dumbed down. Something that everyone can understand, laugh about, maybe even cry a little. I bought this book a while ago at my local Books-A-Million on a sales rack and it's been sitting collecting dust in my book shelf with numerous other books for months. I haven't been reading a lot lately - sad, but true - but I've been busy and was reading Dan Brown for months. It's not that I couldn't get into it, but if you've read Brown, he has so much facts in there that you really have to pay attention and reading at work or while you're renovating a house, I put it down then have to go back and read a chapter or two before I can remember what happened. I also can't read more than one b...

Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close

Last night I watched Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close , the 2011  film starring Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock and newcomer Thomas Horn. I knew the film was going to be about September 11th, but I was not expecting this - a 9 year old's journey through New York City to find the lock to a key left by his father who died in the World Trade Center, is what the previews said, but it was a lot more than that. It was a sons struggle to find himself and cope with the loss of his father in his own way. Not only does he meet many different people of different backgrounds, but along the way he realizes that his father left him one great life lesson and that he can make it on his own without him. It could have done with more mother-son time, because Sandra bullock is barely in the movie, but I think that was the point. The son didn't need his mother, though she was there, in the background. He knew she was there and so did the viewer, but not until the end. The major role definitely goes ...
